We are seeking a highly qualified, Certified Ombudsperson to serve as a neutral, confidential, and impartial conflict resolution practitioner for a prestigious Department of Energy National Accelerator Facility. This is an exciting opportunity to provide professional Ombudsperson Services under a federal contract, supporting a diverse and innovative workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide informal, confidential assistance to staff, scientific users, and stakeholders.
- Facilitate resolution of workplace concerns in a fair, unbiased, and professional manner.
- Offer conflict coaching, mediation, and consultation while maintaining neutrality.
- Identify and communicate trends, patterns, and systemic concerns to leadership while preserving confidentiality.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards and the International Ombuds Association (IOA) Code of Ethics.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Certified Ombudsperson in a professional or higher-education environment.
- Strong background in workplace mediation, conflict resolution, and organizational problem-solving.
- Excellent communication, listening, and facilitation skills.
- Proven ability to operate independently and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Familiarity with government, research, or higher education environments preferred.
Contract Details:
- Anticipated start date: September 2025
- Location: Jefferson Lab – Newport News, VA (on-site presence required)
- Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
